SSP is looking for a motivated and experienced Operations Performance Specialist to help improve operational performance, strengthen leadership capabilities, and ensure consistent service standards across its locations in Berlin.
Job Overview
As an Operations Performance Specialist, you will work closely with the Head of Operations Excellence, Area Director, General Manager, and Unit Managers to improve business performance and maintain high operational standards.
You will act as a coach, advisor, and practical partner to local management teams, helping them improve daily operations, develop effective leadership skills, and achieve sustainable business results.
Your main objective will be to turn performance data into practical improvements while ensuring that company procedures and service standards are consistently followed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Excellence
Support restaurant and retail teams on-site to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and overall business performance.
2. Performance Analysis
Review operational key performance indicators (KPIs), identify areas for improvement, and develop effective action plans.
3. Implementation and Follow-Up
Monitor agreed improvement measures, ensure they are implemented correctly, and evaluate their results.
4. Operational Standards
Help managers and shift supervisors integrate company procedures and performance standards into their everyday work.
5. Employee Training and Coaching
Provide hands-on training in the workplace to strengthen employees' skills, improve management capabilities, and maintain consistent operating standards.
6. Inventory and Stock Control
Reduce inventory losses by improving stock management, inventory procedures, and the accuracy of stock records.
7. Workforce Efficiency
Identify opportunities to improve staffing productivity and control labor costs while maintaining service quality.
8. Cost Management and Sustainability
Optimize food and beverage costs, improve gross profit, and reduce food waste through better purchasing and stock-handling practices.
9. Customer Service and Satisfaction
Improve service speed, enhance the customer experience, and help teams deliver consistently high-quality service.
10. Health, Safety, and Brand Compliance
Ensure that all locations comply with health and safety regulations, company policies, and brand-specific operating requirements.
11. Operational Systems
Encourage the effective use of workforce management tools, inventory systems, and other digital platforms that support daily operations.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
Several years of leadership experience in restaurants, hospitality, retail, or multi-site operations.
A proven track record of analyzing business performance and improving operational KPIs.
Strong coaching skills and the ability to develop managers and frontline leaders.
A solid understanding of business management, operational costs, and financial performance.
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to guide and motivate different teams.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and influence others.
An analytical, organized, and structured approach to solving complex operational challenges.
A practical, hands-on attitude and a willingness to take initiative.
Flexibility to travel and work across locations within the assigned region.
